Wiener Wednesday

It's that time again. My how the week flew by! I told Dave yesterday........I can't believe tomorrow is already Wiener Wednesday :)

This Wiener Wednesday I write with a heavy heart.

I read my cousin Sheila's blog lifeinspearfish.

On her blog I read about another cousin of mine, Sommerlyn, who is Sheila's sister.

Sommerlyn and her husband Gary are the proud parents of a wiener dog, Theodore and Winston's cousin; Chillee.

In Sommerlyn and Gary's Christmas letter they mentioned that Chillee had been diagnosed with an inoperable tumor on his bladder. Chillee had been given a few months to live and had surpassed those expectations. They were grateful and blessed for the additional days they were enjoying with Chillee.

On Sheila's blog she posted that Chillee became very sick on Friday. Saturday afternoon Sommerlyn and Gary had to make the heart wrenching decision to put Chillee to sleep. Chillee died on Saturday.

I know how much I love and adore Theodore and Winston and my heart aches for Sommerlyn, Gary and Malaya for their loss of their loving member of their family.

These are some of my favorite photos that I have of Chillee:

O Lord our God, we come before You this day in sadness. Chillee, who brought so much joy in life, has now died. His happy times in Gary and Sommerlyn's embrace have come to an end.

Help us, O God, to remember the good times with Chillee. Remind us to rejoice in the happy times he brought. Let us be thankful for the good life Gary and Sommerlyn were blessed to give to him.

We are grateful to You, God, for creating Chillee, for entrusting him to Gary and Sommerlyn's care, and for sustaining him in their love for a measure of time. We understand that all that lives must die. We knew that this day would come. And yet, O God, Gary and Sommerlyn would have wanted one more day of play, one more evening of love with Chillee.

O, God, as Gary and Sommerlyn have taken care of Chillee in life, we ask that You watch over him in death. You entrusted Chillee to their care; now, they give him back to You. May Chillee find a happy new home in Your loving embrace.

As we remember Chillee, may we love each other more dearly. May we care for all Your creatures, for every living thing, as we protected the blessed life of Chillee. May his memory bless our lives with love and caring forever. Amen.
