Wiener Wednesday

It's Wiener Wednesday!!

As I have said before, Theodore and Winston have completely different personalities.

Winston is rather uppity. High brow would be a good way to describe him. Wise, thoughtful, pays attention to what is going on around him. Eats with manners, walks with purpose. If he could talk I know he would be very polite and probably have a British accent.

Theodore is none of those things. He is a down-home, good ol' boy, looking for fun in all the wrong places and if he could talk I know he would not use proper grammar and would use the phrase "Git-R-Done" a lot. (Yeah, he is a dog version of Larry the Cable Guy).

One thing that shows their distinct differences is what they eat, how they eat and how much they eat.

Winston is rather finicky. He eats small amounts, chews completely, does not talk with his mouth full, and eats very slowly as to savor the every morsel.

Theodore will eat anything, anywhere, as fast as he can....to the point that he starts to choke himself because he shoveled it in so fast. I don't think he has ever tasted anything his entire life.

This morning I took photos of their breakfast. Same thing. Every day.

They start off with their food. Theodore gets 3/4 of a cup and Winston 1/2.

Within seconds Theodore has nearly gobbled all of his down. Winston has just started.

Theodore has finished his and now licks the bowl.

Theodore leaves the kitchen and goes and hides behind the door. He watches Winston thru the crack. He is waiting for Winston to finish. Hoping Winston will get full before he finishes the meal or at least leave a few pieces about for Theodore to scavenge.

It always takes Winston too long for Theodore. He waits paitently, but can only do so for so long. He comes back to look for the stray pieces and lick his bowl again.

Winston finishes. Takes a drink and then retreats to his spot in the living room to settle his stomache and take an after breakfast nap.

Theodore has left the room again. Peeked thru the door again. Watched Winston finish up Finally. Watches as Winston retreats to the living room and in the kitchen he goes to see if Winston missed anything. He licks Winston's bowl. Licks the floor around Winston's bowl. Searches the entire floor in the kitchen for anything that may have wandered off and then goes back and licks his bowl again....for the third time.

He then stays in the kitchen for awhile. Just to make sure that the kitchen has indeed closed and is no longer serving breakfast. He watches as I put his food away. Only until that drawer is closed does he leave and go about his day.

Which basically consists of............waiting for his next meal!

Dogs........Boys?

This is interesting, and perhaps should be posted under Wiener Wednesday, but I have already posted that for today.

I have been wanting to make a little "area" for Theodore and Winston in my office. Something that feels comfy cozy to them. I thought it would be fun to look up information for:

"Decorating dog's room". So I googled it. I typed in....

"Decorating Dog's Room", in the search bar.

Up came information for:

"Decorating Ideas for Boys Room".

I had to laugh. They obviously know my boys!!

I did eventually, through the world of blogs, come up with some very fun dog room ideas:

Is that not the cutest thing ever?

It actually looks like the Puppy Inn that Theodore and Winston stay at when we have to go out of town. It used to be a hotel that has been renovated to a puppy inn. They share a room with two doggie beds as shown above. They have their own television and VCR/DVD combo, get to watch movies, have climate control for what temperature they are most comfortable in, get doggie ice cream sundaes and twice a day they get "Yappy Hour" (which, I must add, Theodore has been kicked out of Yappy Hour twice because he was getting a little rowdy with everyone and carrying on so. They had to put him in time out.) Leave it to Theodore to take Yappy Hour a bit too far.

That photo came from this blog which has some really fun and creative ideas for painting and accessorizing the room of your dog.

I also came across this site with all kinds of different shapes and sizes of dog beds. Remember these are DOG beds:

This is such a Bud bed!

This one would actually be perfect for having out in my sun room. It even has a drawer to hold their toys or extra bedding!

Here's to happy napping to all you 4 legged family members!

Wiener Wednesday

BIG plans around here.

Theodore and Winston have decided to begin their campaign to run for President/Vice President in the next election. Theodore has decided to take the President role on the ticket. His name has a rather presidential ring to it......don't you think?

They already have their materials printed and ready for distribution:

They just need to get some rest before they get started. This could be exhausting!

Wiener Wednesday

That time of the week again!

Today......Theodore's day.

Theodore is my "Dennis the Menace". He is always into something.........TROUBLE!!

Theodore is always curious, playful, looking for a snack, ready to rumble.

Theodore has NO respect for:
  1. shoes
  2. food within reach
  3. garbage peaking out of the top of the garbage can
  4. toilet paper
  5. newspaper
  6. socks
  7. (Did I mention shoes?)
  8. folded towels or folded clothes in general
  9. pillows on a couch in "his" spot
  10. items in coat pockets
  11. open purses
  12. mittens
  13. DOG TOYS or STUFFED ANIMALS OF ANY SORT!
The last one brings me to today's Wiener Wednesday.

If you notice, the photo that represents Wiener Wednesday, shows Theodore, with his pitiful puppy dog look after he knows he has done something naughty (on the list). That particular photo he had just eniulated his stuffed toy. Which is what he does with EVERY stuffed toy. He pulls them apart. Chews their heads off. Pulls out all of their stuffing. Then drags around their lifeless, unstuffed, shell of a body around the house with great pride and a smile on his naughty little face.

Well, today's near victim.

I had brought over a wire basket full of "stuff" from the other house. I had sat down to sift thru it and throw away probably most of it. I brought the basket down from the attic and sat it in the middle of the living room floor. I walked away for a second. Which is all it took.

Theodore came into the room and, of course, noticed something new. The basket. How he ever knew the stuffed toy was at the very bottom in a clump I will never know.

Discovery

Success!!

So Busted!

Where there is a will.....there is a way!

Wiener Wednesday

It's that time again. My how the week flew by! I told Dave yesterday........I can't believe tomorrow is already Wiener Wednesday :)

This Wiener Wednesday I write with a heavy heart.

I read my cousin Sheila's blog lifeinspearfish.

On her blog I read about another cousin of mine, Sommerlyn, who is Sheila's sister.

Sommerlyn and her husband Gary are the proud parents of a wiener dog, Theodore and Winston's cousin; Chillee.

In Sommerlyn and Gary's Christmas letter they mentioned that Chillee had been diagnosed with an inoperable tumor on his bladder. Chillee had been given a few months to live and had surpassed those expectations. They were grateful and blessed for the additional days they were enjoying with Chillee.

On Sheila's blog she posted that Chillee became very sick on Friday. Saturday afternoon Sommerlyn and Gary had to make the heart wrenching decision to put Chillee to sleep. Chillee died on Saturday.

I know how much I love and adore Theodore and Winston and my heart aches for Sommerlyn, Gary and Malaya for their loss of their loving member of their family.

These are some of my favorite photos that I have of Chillee:

O Lord our God, we come before You this day in sadness. Chillee, who brought so much joy in life, has now died. His happy times in Gary and Sommerlyn's embrace have come to an end.

Help us, O God, to remember the good times with Chillee. Remind us to rejoice in the happy times he brought. Let us be thankful for the good life Gary and Sommerlyn were blessed to give to him.

We are grateful to You, God, for creating Chillee, for entrusting him to Gary and Sommerlyn's care, and for sustaining him in their love for a measure of time. We understand that all that lives must die. We knew that this day would come. And yet, O God, Gary and Sommerlyn would have wanted one more day of play, one more evening of love with Chillee.

O, God, as Gary and Sommerlyn have taken care of Chillee in life, we ask that You watch over him in death. You entrusted Chillee to their care; now, they give him back to You. May Chillee find a happy new home in Your loving embrace.

As we remember Chillee, may we love each other more dearly. May we care for all Your creatures, for every living thing, as we protected the blessed life of Chillee. May his memory bless our lives with love and caring forever. Amen.

Wiener Wednesday

I have been looking around at other blogs and I have noticed many have theme related days:

Make-Do Monday
Thrifty Tuesday
Thankful Thursday
Finally Friday

Every week on that day they post something related to their theme.

Well, how fun! Everyone knows I am all about themes!

I sat down with my pen and paper and thought about what day I would like to represent. Mondays and Fridays are too busy to have to commit to. Tuesday.... I'm still getting over Monday. Wednesday. That would work. Right in the middle. Now what would work with the alliteration: Let's see:

Whiskey Wednesday (No.....I don't drink, but where did that come from?!)
Wasted Wednesday
Washed Up Wednesday (What the heck? Do you see a theme developing here?) (You can tell what kind of a week I have had :) )
Wedding Wednesday (No, come summer, weddings will probably dominate most of my posts nearly every day of the week).

I know.......something dear to my heart that certainly deserves its own special day, and they always give me something to write about....................................

Wiener Wednesday!

.........and so it goes

I have been somewhat busy trying to get some holiday decorations put away. We took the tree down on Sunday. In order to get the tree down I have to move all of the stuffed animals I put around the base. I didn't have the containers out yet, and needed somewhere to contain them so I put them on the couch. They filled up the entire couch!

Well......this is where Mr. Theodore and Mr. Winston take their naps. Here it is Wednesday and I have not yet moved the stuffed animals. They have had enough. They were over the stuffed animals taking over THEIR nap spot. They took it upon themselves to do some rearranging. Moving, pushing, adjusting. I came out and found a heap of stuffed animals on the floor and Theodore and Winston where they used to be.
